They have a spherical shape and their skin, aroma and taste may vary by variety. Specifically, their taste can vary from juicy and sweet to bitter or even sour. The most common varieties are: Valencia, Merlin,Navelina, Sanguini, Sultan, Chios, Arta etc. Oranges are usually available from autumn to spring, with the exception of some varieties, which with suitable conditions bear fruit even in summer.

Navelina is an early variety, maturing in October. The tree is of medium size quite productive. The fruit has a bright orange color. It is thin-skinned, of good quality and of satisfactory size.
