\nSmoky (Capnodis tenebrionis) is one of the most important
\nenemies of stone fruits in the Mediterranean region (peaches, plums,
\napricots, cherries, etc.). It affects both the root system and the trunk
\nof trees. The total duration of his biological cycle is 13 months. Adults
\nfemales lay eggs from June to August around the trees. The
\nlarvae migrate to the root system and create arcades in the
\nits interior during autumn and winter. In August
\nyoung adults emerge and feed on leaves. Adults overwinter in the ground
\nand reappear in April for the next spawning cycle.<\/p>\n
\nNemastar is an effective product against all its stages
\nsmoky, including acne resulting from nymphing.
\nIt is applied through the drip irrigation or wetting of the soil
\nApril \/ May and September \/ October, when the soil moisture is
\nhigh. The recommended dose is 1-3 ml of nematodes \/ tree
\napplied to at least 30 liters of water. For best results, water
\nbefore and after application with 30 liters of water each tree.<\/p>\n
\nThe nemastar has been used with great success on thousands of acres
\norchards in Spain. Efficacy in field tests on apricots
\nranged from 75-90%, regardless of the method of application. For long term
